Most electrical engineers in consulting do the design, hand it over and move on. You never quite know how it turned out.
This is different.
You'd be joining the design team inside one of Australia's most established Tier 1 electrical contractors — a business that's been delivering complex electrical systems on some of the country's biggest builds for 50 years.
The Melbourne design team is 15 strong. It's not a big anonymous department. You'll know the people you work with, you'll have visibility across the full project lifecycle, and you'll get to see your work actually built.
They've recently won a major hospital project and a large commercial development. Add to that an active pipeline across data centres, education, industrial, and sporting facilities — and there's no shortage of interesting work coming through the door.
You'll lead the full electrical design on complex, multi-discipline projects from concept through to construction support. That means client liaison, producing technical documentation, and managing the design process end-to-end.
You'll have junior engineers to support you and experienced managers around you when you need them. The expectation is that you can run with a project and make good decisions — but you won't be left without backup.
There's flexibility on working arrangements too. One day a week from home is the norm, and they're pragmatic about it.
You'll also get a clear career path laid out from day one, tailored to where you want to go. Regular appraisals and salary reviews aren't just something they say — they actually do it.
And because you'll be working contractor-side, you get something most consultants don't — the full picture. From design through to commissioning and handover.
